872. Wilhelm and Else Heraeus-Seminar

 Venue: Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany)

ECHO (the 872. Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Seminar) will be held at Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) in Germany. The FZJ is one of the largest interdisciplinary research centres in Europe and a founding member of the Helmholtz Association.

Please note that access to the campus is possible only by providing a valid passport or ID card.

Detailed information on how to reach us is available on the FZJ Homepage.

Jülich is situated in the triangle between Cologne, Düsseldorf and Aachen. If you travel by plane, Düsseldorf airport is usually the most convenient choice. From the railway station at the airport, we recommend to continue to Düren main station by train. Some trains go directly to Düren whereas other connections involve a change at Cologne main station. From Düren main station you can continue by bus to reach your hotel.

For all participants and lecturers we will provide accommodation at the  “B&B Hotel Düren free of charge.

Traveling to / from the Hotel has to be organized and paid at your own expenses. But we will organize a shuttle bus that will pick you up at the B&B Hotel in the morning and will bring you back in the evening.

In case you arrive individually, you can use our interactive site map to navigate on our campus. The lectures will be held in building 05.13.

If you travel by car, you can enter the campus through the main gate at “Wilhlem-Johnen-Straße”. Follow the route indicated in the image below to reach building 05.13 where the event will be held. Parking is available on campus free of charge, but capacity is limited.

In case you plan to travel by taxi, please note that taxis are not allowed on campus. Hence, you will need to exit / enter your taxi at the main gate and walk to the venue. Walking distance is ca. 10-15 min.

In case you plan to travel by bus: the SB 20SB 35 and the 220 bus lines connect Forschungszentrum Jülich to the local public transport system. Timetables are available here:
