Travel Information

Jülich is situated in the triangle between Cologne, Düsseldorf and Aachen. If you travel by plane, Düsseldorf airport is usually the most convenient choice. From the railway station at the airport, we recommend to continue to Düren main station by train. Some trains go directly to Düren whereas other connections involve a change at Cologne main station. From Düren main station you can continue by bus to reach your hotel.

For our invited guests we have reserved rooms at the Hotel “Rotes Einhorn” in Düren.

For all other participants we recommend booking the “B&B Hotel Düren“.

As traveling to Jülich is inconvenient, we will organize a shuttle bus that will pick you up either at the B&B or the Rotes Einhorn on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning. Wednesday and Thursday evening, the bus will bring you back to these two hotels. On Friday afternoon, the bus will drop you off at Düren main station.

Travel advice

Day of arrival: On Wednesday, the shuttle will pick you up at your hotel around 11:15 AM but hotel check-in is only possible from 3 PM. Hence, we highly recommend arriving one day early, i.e. on October 7th already.

Day of departure: If you plan to travel back on Friday, please make sure to check-out of your hotel in the morning before taking the shuttle to the venue and take all your luggage with you. On Friday afternoon the shuttle will bring you to Düren main station from where you can continue your trip.
