 Workshop Description

Cryo-EM Data to Structure

This workshop offers a hands-on introduction to computational cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) data processing using the cryoSPARC software platform. Working with a streamlined tutorial dataset, participants will follow a guided workflow that highlights the key steps of cryo-EM analysis in a clear and accessible manner.

The primary aim is to familiarize participants with current cryo-EM processing tools and best-practice workflows. Through structured exercises, attendees will gain practical experience with core cryoSPARC functionalities, including data import, particle picking and refinement, and 3D reconstruction strategies.

Beyond the tutorial, the workshop encourages discussion and exchange among participants. This interactive setting provides space to address questions related to individual datasets and computational challenges, supporting knowledge transfer and practical problem-solving within the cryo-EM community.

 Catering

Coffee breaks will be served in Building 05.13, directly outside the seminar room where the meeting and workshop take place.

During the lunch breaks, we will walk together from the ER-C building to the cafeteria (approximately 10 minutes), following a scenic route along the central lake. Please bring suitable clothing for a short walk outdoors and also an umbrella, as it tends to rain in October. The cafeteria offers a wide selection of dishes to suit different preferences. Lunch tickets will be provided and must be presented at the cash register. A separate area will be reserved so that we can sit together, and coffee and other beverages will also be available there.

On Monday evening, 5 October, finger food will be served during the poster session, followed by an opportunity for informal discussions over non-alcoholic beverages.

On Tuesday evening, 6 October, we will host a barbecue with drinks and invite you to continue networking and discussions in a relaxed setting.
