EVENTS

The ER-C frequently hosts conferences, workshops, lectures, etc.

Here you can find an overview of upcoming events.

The Electron Crystallography School in Jülich follows the long tradition of educational events in the field of electron crystallography in Europe, coordinated by the Special Interest Group for Electron Crystallography (SIG4) of the European Crystallographic Association. From March 2nd to March 6th, 2026 this school will be hosted by the ER-C. It will continue the traditions of previous schools, featuring foundational lectures, while adding a new focus on hands-on data collection at numerous electron microscopes and introducing data collection protocols in action.

The Ninth Conference on Frontiers of Aberration Corrected Electron Microscopy will be held in spring 2026 as an on-site event at Kasteel Vaalsbroek located at the bordering point of the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium from May 3rd to May 7th, 2026. We will again address recent advances in methods and applications for the study of solids in condensed matter research and the life sciences by the application of advanced electron microscopy techniques.

Women in Electron Microscopy (WeM) is a landmark initiative, aiming to foster a supportive and inclusive community for women in microscopy. By addressing unique challenges, providing networking opportunities, and highlighting role models, the event contributes to a more diverse and innovative field. Due to its enormous success in 2025, another edition of this event is planned for March 8th to March 10th, 2027.
