SPRING<\/a><\/strong> (S<\/strong> ingle P<\/strong> article R<\/strong> econstruction from I<\/strong> mages of kN<\/strong> own G<\/strong> eometry) is a single-particle based helical reconstruction package for electron cryo-micrographs and has been used to determine 3D structures of a variety of highly ordered and less ordered specimens. Spring provides the entire single-particle based work-flow required for helical reconstruction including:<\/p>\n

– Classification<\/p>\n

– Helical symmetry determination and refinement tools<\/p>\n

– High-resolution structure refinement<\/p>\n

– Multi-symmetry structure refinement<\/p>\n

Spring is still maintained in the Sachse lab at the Ernst-Ruska Centre<\/a><\/strong> of the Research Centre Juelich<\/a><\/strong> for the Unix operating systems of MacOSX and Linux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
