The Seventh Conference on Frontiers of Aberration Corrected Electron Microscopy, was held in spring 2022 as an on-site event. We addressed recent advances in methods and applications for the study of solids in condensed matter research and the life sciences by the application of advanced electron microscopy techniques<\/span>. Furthermore, we celebrated\u00a0 the 25th anniversary<\/strong> of the function and publication of the first aberration-corrected transmission electron microscope.<\/p>\n

The conference was held at Kasteel Vaalsbroek
located at the bordering point of The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium from 8 <\/strong><\/span>to 12 May 2022<\/strong>. <\/span><\/span>Topical issues of advanced electron microscopy research were highlighted in ca. 50 keynote presentations given by leading invited speakers<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/span><\/span>PICO 2022 was organised by the the Ernst Ruska-Centre in Aachen and J\u00fclich. Furthermore, the conference was supported by the European Microscopy Society (EMS). As an EMS extension meeting<\/strong>, the EMS best paper award ceremony was part of PICO 2022.<\/p>\n
