The Ernst Ruska-Centre (ER-C) for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons is a national user facility open to universities, research institutions and research laboratories in industry. The ER-C is run conjointly by\u00a0 Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich GmbH<\/a> and RWTH Aachen University<\/a>. The facility is located on the campus of Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich GmbH, a major interdisciplinary research centre and member of the Helmholtz Association<\/a>. The operational services of the ER-C can be engaged by submission of a brief proposal<\/a>,\u00a0 and are based on the guiding principle that external users are accompanied by experienced scientists and technical support staff.<\/p>\n

The state-of-the-art instrumentation and scientific expertise provided by\u00a0 the ER-C is of immense benefit to users seeking solutions to complex research problems. The staff scientists at the ER-C are active researchers on their own, in the fields of electroceramics, oxide superconductors, spintronic materials, semiconductors and complex metallic alloys. With this expertise, they are able to support the user’s research in condensed matter physics, nanoelectronics and information technology. The Ernst Ruska-Centre houses some of the world’s most advanced electron microscopes and tools for nanocharacterisation, several of which have been funded by the German Research Foundation<\/a> and the Helmholtz Association<\/a>. The ER-C strongly encourages scientific researchers and students to tap into the powerful capabilities of this facility, and to find out more about our exciting possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
