Venue: Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich<\/h1>\n

WeM2027 \u2013 the second edition of our conference highlighting Women in Electron Microscopy will again be held at <\/span>Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich (FZJ) in Germany<\/span><\/span>. The FZJ is one of the largest interdisciplinary research centres in Europe and a founding member of the Helmholtz Association.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Please note that access to the campus is possible only by providing a valid passport or ID card.<\/span> <\/strong>

J\u00fclich is situated in the triangle between Cologne, D\u00fcsseldorf and Aachen. If you travel by plane, D\u00fcsseldorf airport is usually the most convenient choice. From the railway station at the airport, we recommend to continue to D\u00fcren main station by train. Some trains go directly to D\u00fcren whereas other connections involve a change at Cologne main station. From D\u00fcren main station you can continue by bus to reach your hotel.<\/p>\n

For our invited guests we have booked rooms at the “Dorint<\/a>“<\/span> Hotel in D\u00fcren.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For all other participants we have arranged a call option at special rates. It is available by booking via telephone (+49 2421 4402-0) or email (reservierung.dueren@dorint.com) using the\u00a0keyword “Women in Electron Microscopy”<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Please note that this special offer is available only until January 25th, 2027.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As traveling to J\u00fclich is inconvenient, we will organize a shuttle bus that will pick you up at the Dorint Hotel in the morning and bring you back in the evening. On the last day the bus will make an extra stop at D\u00fcren main station in the evening.<\/p>\n

In case you arrive individually, you can use our interactive site map<\/a> to navigate on our campus. The event will be held in building 05.13<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you travel by car, you can enter the campus through the main gate at \u201cWilhlem-Johnen-Stra\u00dfe\u201d. Follow the route indicated in the image below to reach building 05.13 where the event will be held. Parking is available on campus free of charge, but capacity is limited.<\/p>\n

In case you plan to travel by taxi, please note that taxis are not allowed on campus<\/strong><\/span>. Hence, you will need to exit \/ enter your taxi at the main gate and walk to the venue. Walking distance is ca. 10-15 min.<\/p>\n

Local public transportation<\/h3>\n

In case you plan to travel by bus: the\u00a0SB 20<\/strong>,\u00a0SB 35<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0220<\/strong>\u00a0bus lines connect Forschungszentrum J\u00fclich to the local public transport system. Timetables are available here:

Travel advice<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Day of departure: If you plan to travel back on the last day, please make sure to check-out of your hotel in the morning before taking the shuttle to the venue and take all your luggage with you. On the last day the shuttle will bring you to D\u00fcren main station from where you can continue your trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
